I have to share a story about my amazing little girl...
She came home from school one day and was talking about a little girl in her class. This little girl was wearing the same worn out, too small for her clothes everyday. The little girl told Kylee that she didn't have a dress. Kylee came home wanting to buy her a Christmas dress or that she could have one of her dresses. Not wanting to offend her parents I talked to her teacher about it. Her teacher had the same concern and had to talk to the parents about the little girls clothes not fitting. Unfortunately we were not able to help this little girl. Kylee was so sad that her friend would not have a Christmas dress. If only we could all be like my little 5 year old wanting to help a friend in need. It touched me that she thought only of helping this little girl and there was no judgement. She amazes me all of the time with how much she thinks of others. She comes home from school all of the time with a story of a friend alone at recess and since they didn't have someone to play with she walked around with them. I love her so much and am so grateful to have such a sweet little girl with such a big heart! I would like to be more like her! I am blessed!

There is so much leading up to Halloween by the time it hits I am done dressing everyone up! Our day started with Kylee's halloween parade at school. Then Gage and I went into her class to help with the party. We went to my in-laws neighborhood to do some trick or treating (since we have zero kids in ours). It was a good day!

Pumpkin Patch

Earlier in the week we went to the pumpkin patch to pick some pumpkins. It was a little bit rainy but other than that a great night. We picked some pumpkins went through a corn maze and rode behind a tractor on a hay ride. Gage LOVES tractors so he was in heaven!

July 24th weekend in Delta

We had a blast, as usual, in Delta. July is such a fun and busy month for us. Definitely our favorite holidays. We had good company and great weather. Can't ask for better than that!

St. George trip..... June, 2011

We had a cousin trip to St. George with some of Trav's family. Tonya, her sister Chris, cousin Steph and Steph's kids Hunter, Tyler Hannah and Tanner. We went there to see the plays at the Tuacahn theater. One night Stephanie and I took the kids see The Little Mermaid. It was AMAZING! Such a good show and put together so well. Tonya and Chris took the kids the next night to see Grease. They were not super impressed with it but had a good time. I hope that we make this trip an annual one.

Kylee rode a tube for the first time this year. She rode with her dad and then asked if I would ride with her. She was liking the waves we were going over and we hit one that was too big and we submarined the tube. Needless to say we fell off and went under! She was terrified until I turned her around to face me. Luckily she got right back on and she enjoyed the rest of her ride.

Once we started going again she was happy and had fun.

We drove home Monday the 4th. We had some sparklers for the kids and they loved them, of course!

The fireworks were incredible this year! We drove around and watched everyone else's firework show. The kids (and mom and dad) loved watching the fireworks everyone else spent their hard earned money on!

We went to the parade in the morning and man was it hot!! Luckily we had some shade up the hill so we spent the last half of the parade up there. The kids had a blast!!

Our husbands were gone to vernal for a softball tournament. We wish Katie could have come. She was in San Francisco.

Poor Dax took a header off the cement steps on his bike a few days before. Little guy is fearless!

When this ride first started they were terrified. Their faces were hilarious! A few times around they started having a good time.

Gage lasted about a minute in this ride. That was before it even started! It took a good five minutes for the ride to even start and he was done! (it didn't help that it was 11pm!)

Merry go rounds are Kylee's favorite!

The kids had so much fun riding rides and playing games. As people were leaving they came and gave us their extra tickets. It was great! I look forward to Taylorsville Dayzz every year!

Sunday the 19th was Kylee's birthday. Being Fathers day we waited til Monday (my birthday) to have her family party. Sunday she woke up to the kitchen being decorated with streamers and her presents from Mom, Dad and Gage waiting for her to open.

First camping trip of the year...

Our usual spot in spring city had to much snow so we went to Ophir (by Tooele) instead. It was our first time camping there and it was a great spot. The weather was beautiful. We left Thursday night and came home Sunday. Friday was Travis and my 8th anniversary. It was a fun way to spend it. I love that man!!

I don't know why we wait to take a group picture til the last day we are there. Everyone looks fantastic!

We went to the mall today with my sisters and they were doing a kids fair. Ky and Parker were so excited to get their faces painted. Gage wanted nothing to do with that, of course! It ended up being a lot of fun for them. A fun and unexpected way to spend a few hours!

We are so sad to be done with preschool but excited to move on to Kindergarten in the fall!

2 weeks ago Kylee got to celebrate her birthday since she won't be in school for it. She got her awesome hat, a heart cake and got to take her friends a treat.

Kylee had her last preschool program on Friday. She absolutely LOVES her preschool and her teachers. I am sad for her to move on to kindergarten. I know she will love it though!

Growing up the Easter bunny brought us a swim suit with our basket full of candy and I glad that he decided to do the same for my kids. :) He doesn't hide their baskets though. Maybe I will have to have a talk with the Easter bunny and have him do that next year.

St. George trip...

Last weekend we went as a family (minus Chad, Ali and Jake) on vacation. Our first night we stayed in Springdale which is right by Zions National Park then we went to St. George Saturday through Monday. The weather was beautiful once we got to St. George. As we started up Zions on Saturday it turned from rain to snow. I have never seen Zions while it was snowing and it was just as beautiful.

We saw a couple movies at the Imax theater and one was 3D so we got the snazzy glasses!

Gage wore his until the movie actually started and then he wanted nothing to do with them.

I know I know...we look pretty sweet!

At the hotel they had a putting green so the boys played a little bit. Gage did really good. I have a video of him hitting it in I will have to post. Too cute!

It didn't take long for the kids to pass out when we started up the canyon.

Papa and Grammy bought the kids some souvenirs. Kylee picked a dinosaur egg that you hatch in water.

Gage picked a "raar" as he would call it. (can you tell he is tired?)

The weather was too nice not to be outside. We were practicing our pole dancing moves. :)
We got a few odd stares!

Austin got the football stuck in the tree. They spent a good half hour trying to get it down. He was pretty much using a spear the try and get it down. If you look close you can see the football and below it to the left you will see the white spear! Crazy boys.

Thank goodness for heated pools! The kids were in heaven. All Kylee wanted to do was go swimming!

That boy has no fear! He kept trying to jump in with out someone to catch him.

We went to the Fiesta Family Fun Center. It was fun to act like kids again for the day.

We had a sick little boy Sunday night. He was up with a fever and threw up. He was just fine the next day, just tired.

We had such a fun time! We definitely missed Chad, Ali and Jake. It's just not the same without everyone there. The pictures just aren't the same without all of us.

Pictures don't do this place justice. Growing up we made a trip to St. George and Zions around Easter every year. I have the best memories of these trips. These places remind me of my Dad so much. I couldn't help but drive through the beautiful canyons and think of him. It's moments like this that I can feel him with me most.

I FINALLY found some glow in the dark stars to put in Gage's room. Kylee LOVES hers and I thought he would too. I put him to bed last night and he was TERRIFIED!! Poor kid. I don't understand why. Trav ended up having to prop his door open and let some light in so they didn't glow and it still took him over an hour to finally fall asleep. I guess i will be taking them down today. Maybe I will put them on my ceiling! Silly boy :)

Kylee loves to blow bubbles. She was excited to be able to get out and do it for a little bit. We cannot wait for spring and summer!!

I have been really lucky when it comes to transferring to the big bed. Both my kids have been really easy. Gage was so excited! He goes right asleep and stays in bed all night. His door sticks a little bit and he hasn't figured out how to open it yet so he knocks on the door until I come and get him. Love that kid! Of all the milestones this one is really emotional for me. Travis makes fun of me for getting teary eyed but it's just that he is no longer a baby and that is a sad thing!

My kids are obsessed with slurpees this winter for some strange reason. I don't think they realize it's cold outside! At least once a week we make a trip to the gas station and I let them pick what they want and that is it. They get so excited!

My kids have always liked each other but recently they have really started playing together really good. They are always chasing each other around and laughing their heads off. I love to watch them while they wrestle! What a great blessing to have your kids be friends!

New Years Eve

We spent New Years Eve with my sister Brittany and sis Katie and Brian. Becky and Lewis and their family got sick so they were not able to make it. We started out the night with some of Brian's delicious dinner. He made filet mignon, garlic potatoes and asparagus. Then for something to do we went to see the zoo lights. It was pretty cold but we spent most of our time in the buildings so it wasn't too bad. Then we went back to Katie's and played games.

I have never seen the tigers more active. There was a kid that was climbing up by the fence (not smart! His parents watched him do it too! ) and it looked like the tigers were trying to stalk him. Kind of creepy! It's scary knowing the only thing that stops it from attacking is a chain link fence.

Gage LOVED these cats! It wasn't until I looked at the pictures later on that I saw that he was kissing the glass.

First we went to Travis's parents house to open and exchange gifts and have breakfast.

Christmas Morning 2010

I look forward to when my kids wake me up Christmas morning instead of me waking them up.

Santa brought Ky a bike. Santa covered their presents he brought with blankets and Ky was really hesitant to pull hers off. Once she did she told us that she thought Santa was hiding underneath!

Santa brought Gage a cozy coupe police car. He didn't get out of it for about a half hour. He had to open a few presents inside of it.

I had him open Buzz last because I knew he wouldn't put it down. He held on to buzz from 8 a.m. through most of the next day only putting him for a minute or two. He finally put buzz down to play with something else. He still sleeps with him and has him for the majority of the day.

Kylee really wanted a pillow pet. When she peeked at it while she was opening it she thought it was sand?! It was a big hit!

We had so much fun watching the kids open their presents that we forgot we had our own. We only had 30 min to open our presents and get ready before we had to be to Trav's parents house.
Travis got me that chair for camping. They are my fav chairs! Now I don't have to steal other people's!

We spent Christmas Eve with Trav's family this year. We started the night with delicious food and then watched a few short movies to remind us why we celebrate Christmas. After that Travis's uncle Mike made some marshmallow guns and the war began...

Every year my Mother-in-law gets my kids jammies. Ky loved her "ruffle bum" and of course Gage loved his Buzz jammies. When he saw them he started taking his shirt off so I would put them on him.

Kylee's Christmas Programs

Kylee had two programs with her preschool. The first one was on Wednesday at the mall. Her teacher has a few different classes and most of the kids from all classes sang together. It was really cute. I couldn't get any good pictures of them singing because of the lighting.

This year we spent the day with my family. We had a great dinner and for some reason I didn't take pictures. That is not like me at all! I was enjoying listening to my step sister talk about her Black Friday shopping. They are hilarious! Here are a few that I got...

My sister Ashley came home this year so we had to get a sibling picture.

All I wanted was for a picture of the 4 of us. My husband, for some reason, has to make this stupid face EVERY time we take a picture. We got two that looked like this and then of course Gage wouldn't hold still to take another one! No lie..EVERY time we take a picture together!

We took the boat out one last time to go fishing. We went to Strawberry and it ended up getting pretty cold. We had a good time even though Travis and Kylee were the only ones to catch fish. Kylee's barbie fishing pole caught two of the fish and mine caught the other. Too bad I wasn't the one to catch it!

Trick or Treat...

Our Halloween night was not to eventful. Gage had been sick the night before so we didn't want to take him around anyone in case he had the flu. Trav and I took the kids out to a few houses around our old neighborhood to trick or treat. We went back to his parents house for some chili and went home early to watch the world series game we recorded. Unfortunately this was the best picture we got of all of us. Gage gets his head chopped off.

The rain finally died down a little bit.

On Monday Ky had her program. They sang lot's of songs and said some Halloween poems. She was so excited to show all of her songs she learned to us. During some of the songs she wouldn't do the actions so after I asked her why and she said "I just felt like singing today." Well Okay! It was a cute program and they sang some really cute songs. I am so happy that she loves going to school!

I couldn't get pictures of the whole group because of the lady sitting in front of us. Most of my pictures have her head in them! :(

Witches Night Out 2010

We had a really good time this year. Dinner took longer than planned so we made it to Gardener Village a little bit late. It rained all day and thankfully cleared up that night.

Travis had the kids for the weekend while I was in Denver (pictures to come). He took the kids out to Strawberry Reservoir on Saturday and Kylee caught 4 fish! (Travis caught 0!!) They had such a good time. Their Papa Marlin was with them and helped Kylee hold her fish for the picture because she couldn't hold it on her own!

If you can't tell Daddy was in charge of doing Kylee's hair!

Fishing at Starvation Reservior

On Saturday we took the kiddos out to have their first fishing adventure and little did we know how big of an adventure we would take. Lets just say that despite the crazy wind we had, and trying to get the boat on the trailer with only one experienced boat driver, we had a really good time! The kids had a lot of fun and Travis and I were nervous wrecks the whole time. Crazy enough we can't wait to take them out again!

They each have their own fishing poles. Kylee picked a barbie pole and Gage, of course, got a Buzz Lightyear pole.

Since we didn't catch any fish Kylee was bummed. When we got home she used Gage's pole and we taught her how to cast. She did a really good job. That little green fish is the only thing we managed to catch all day! :(

Kylee had to have a few fillings done so here she is being the bravest girl ever!! She tends to get really emotional when she has things done out of the norm so we had to take some medicine to help her relax. Thankfully I know a really good dentist and assistant ;) ... I think that I was a lot more anxious about it than she was. She did AWESOME! I am so proud of her!

Book Cliffs

Over labor day weekend Chad, Kaycee and I went to the book cliffs to be with Marlin, Austin and Travis. Marlin drew a tag for deer there and Austin and Travis went down for a week to hunt with him. We had a really good time. It was nice to spend the weekend with Travis and hunt with him. I was in the blind with him when he shot his first elk ever. He was a nervous wreck! It was a really neat experience to be there for that. The kiddos spent the weekend with their Grandma's and had a lot of fun.

If you have a zoo pass you might as well use it..right?! Well that is what we did today. Just the kids and I made a trip and we had a really good time. It wasn't too hot of a day so the animals were pretty active. We got to see a lot of them being fed which was really cool.

Tuesday Kylee had her first day of school and absolutely LOVED it!
I was a little bit worried that I would have to deal with a crying girl but I practically had to force her to give me a kiss goodbye.
The night before I was telling her that she had to go by herself that mom or dad wouldn't be there with her. She got tears in her eyes and gave me a huge hug and said "I will miss you so much". I of course balled my eyes out!
She loves her teacher Miss Karen and had so much fun with her new friends in class.

It took weeks to find the perfect backpack.

Emergency room visit!!

We spent last night in the emergency room getting stitches. We didn't get to bed til about 2 a.m and poor Travis had to get up at 5:30 for work. It had been a few years since he last had stitches, i guess he just felt it was time!

I should clarify...he collided with another player and his face cage hit Travis in the face. 5 years ago it would have been caused by a fight but he has sort of controlled himself! The other guy was just a lot smarter and protects himself!

July 24th

This year we did things a little different for the 24th. Usually we are in Delta but with Ali being so close to having the baby we didn't want to chance it. Chad had the idea for us to have a battle with the fireworks. We each built a tank to fight. We got some cars and put fireworks onto it to build our tanks. It was a ton of fun! A lot more exciting than lighting each firework individually. Ali and I battled and we wound up putting all of the loud fireworks onto ours. When they went off it was so stinkin loud! I looked over and Kylee was plugging her ears and crying. It was a good battle. We may have to make that a new tradition!

Gage did not want Kylee sitting by him. Little stinker!

Last Friday we took our boat out and went fishing at Deer Creek with Katie and Brian. The kids stayed at my mom's house while we went. It was so relaxing!

Poor Travis didn't catch anything! I swear he spent most of the time messing with his line.
